The Story

Super Sprint Berlin is the German capital's invitation to the sport of triathlon — a 400m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run that transforms Berlin's urban landscape into a beginner-friendly multi-sport course.

The swim takes place in one of Berlin's urban lakes at 19°C — warmer than the Olympic-distance race, and warm enough that the cold-water anxiety is manageable. The lake is calm, clean, and surrounded by the birch and pine that give Berlin's green spaces their distinctive character.

The 10km bike rides through Berlin's broad avenues — flat, smooth, with the TV Tower at Alexanderplatz visible on the skyline and the Brandenburg Gate area providing a brief moment of historical gravity. Berlin's roads are wide and well-surfaced; the flat terrain means the entire ride is accessible.

The 2.5km run through the Tiergarten is where Berlin's character emerges. The park is vast, green, and shaded — a welcome contrast to the open bike course. At 2.5km, the run is short enough to be over before fatigue truly sets in, but long enough to feel earned.

Berlin's super-sprint is part of the city's broader triathlon culture — a city where endurance sport is taken seriously, where the infrastructure supports it, and where the history of overcoming things runs deeper than any road race.

"Berlin makes super-sprint feel significant. The city has a way of adding weight to everything you do there."

What It Feels Like

Super Sprint Berlin is a well-organised gateway race in a world-class city. The flat course, manageable swim temperature, and Berlin's infrastructure make it ideal for first-timers. The city's history adds meaning that a suburban park course can never match.

🏊 The Swim

400m in a Berlin lake at 19°C. Calm, clean, manageable temperature. The short distance and still water make this ideal for first-time open-water swimmers. No current or waves to manage.

🚴 The Bike

10km of flat Berlin roads. Wide avenues, excellent surfaces, and iconic landmarks. The flat profile means the entire ride is accessible regardless of cycling experience. Wind can be a factor but the short distance limits its impact.

🏃 The Run

2.5km through the Tiergarten. Shaded, green, gently rolling. The park provides a peaceful finish to the race, with the Brandenburg Gate area nearby for post-race photos.
